Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Introduction

Zuniva, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our faith community application.

Information We Collect

At signup, we ask for three things:

  • Email address: used to create your account, sign you in, and contact you about your account.
  • A password: your password is handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form. Zuniva cannot see or retrieve your password.
  • Date of birth: we ask for your date of birth so we can confirm you are at least 13 and determine whether youth safeguards apply to your account. It is not shown to other members, Circle leaders, or churches.

Optional profile information you may add later, such as a display name, username, denomination, and communication or reminder preferences.

Content you create in the app, including journal entries, gratitude entries, prayers, notes, Scripture annotations, and Circle check-ins and posts.

Usage data, including first-party product telemetry about how you interact with the app — such as which screens or features were used, counts, and status values. We use it to operate, improve, secure, and understand use of Zuniva. It is linked to your account and is not used for advertising tracking. We do not include your written content, Circle or church names, or your display name in this telemetry.

Payment information, if you purchase a subscription, is processed by our third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe). Zuniva does not store full card numbers; we may receive limited billing details such as payment status, plan, and the last 4 digits to manage subscriptions and support.

Age Information

  • You must be at least 13 to create a Zuniva account.
  • We require your date of birth when you sign up. We use it to confirm you are at least 13 and to determine whether youth safeguards apply to your account.
  • Zuniva is not available to children under 13.
  • We store the resulting age classification (youth or adult) that the product uses to apply safeguards.
  • Your date of birth is private. It is not displayed to other members, Circle leaders, or church administrators through normal product surfaces, and it is not used for advertising, personalization, or tracking.
  • Your date of birth is self-reported. Zuniva does not independently verify your age or identity.
  • We do not collect or verify parental consent, and we do not represent that a parent or guardian has approved an account.
  • Where an account's age classification is not set, age-restricted features stay closed until it is.

Private Spiritual Content

Some of what you write in Zuniva is meant to stay between you and God. That includes:

  • Private journal entries
  • Gratitude entries
  • Personal prayers you have not shared with a Circle
  • Private notes
  • Scripture annotations and notebooks
  • Similar private spiritual-practice content

This content is not available through normal product access to church administrators, Circle leaders, or Zuniva staff. There is no feature that lets them read it.

We want to be honest about the limits of that statement. Zuniva is not end-to-end encrypted, and we do not claim that no backend system can ever process this data. Limited automated and backend processing occurs to operate, back up, secure, export, and delete the service, and we may access data where required by law or to respond to a credible safety emergency. We protect this content with access controls and reasonable security measures rather than a promise of absolute confidentiality.

Content That May Be Reviewed

Other content is shared, published, or subject to safety review. Authorized people may review:

  • Content you intentionally share into a Circle
  • Reports you or others submit
  • Moderation and safety records
  • Content published to a church or public audience

Youth Privacy (Ages 13–17)

  • Zuniva accounts are for ages 13 and up.
  • Members ages 13–17 have additional Circle restrictions.
  • Circles created by individuals are for adults 18 and older.
  • Members ages 13–17 may participate only in eligible church-owned Circles that the church has enabled for youth participation.
  • Youth participation is subject to Zuniva's product-level safeguards, described in our Terms of Use.
  • Age status is self-reported and is not independently verified by Zuniva. Zuniva does not verify the identity, age, or suitability of church personnel.
  • A church administrator can see whether a Circle includes members ages 13–17 and who its members and leaders are. This does not give them access to private spiritual content.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to understand how Zuniva is used and to improve your experience. These include:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the app to function properly, including session management and security features. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with Zuniva by collecting and reporting information anonymously. These are optional and require your consent.

We use Google Analytics on our public website only, and only after you affirmatively accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics is not used inside the Zuniva iOS or Android application. This data is processed in accordance with Google's privacy practices.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time:

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and personalize the Zuniva experience
  • To improve overall service quality, including safety, accuracy, reliability, and misuse prevention
  • To keep Circles safe, including moderation and handling reports
  • To communicate important updates (with your consent)

Moderation and Reporting

Content shared into a Circle is community content and may be moderated. Any member can report content or behavior that concerns them.

  • Appropriate church and Zuniva administrators may review reports and related moderation records.
  • Reports involving Circles with members ages 13–17 receive additional escalation handling beyond ordinary Circle moderation.
  • A person who is the subject of a report cannot review or decide that report.

Third-Party Services

Zuniva relies on trusted third-party services to operate and improve the application. These services may process limited data on our behalf and only for the purposes described in this policy. This includes:

  • Payment processing services (e.g., Stripe) to securely handle subscription payments and billing
  • Infrastructure, hosting, and authentication providers to store and deliver application data
  • AI processing: AI-assisted features are not enabled in the current version of Zuniva. If we offer an AI-assisted feature in the future, requests you make to that feature would be sent through Zuniva's AI service gateway and may be processed by the underlying model provider to generate a response. We will describe that processing before the feature is made available.
  • Analytics and monitoring tools (e.g., Google Analytics, on our public website only) to understand usage patterns and improve performance

We do not sell your personal data. Third-party service providers are permitted to process data only as necessary to provide their services to Zuniva and are required to protect your information.

Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including access controls and encryption of data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not offer end-to-end encryption.

Account Deletion and Data Retention

You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app, or request deletion from our account deletion page if you cannot sign in.

Deletion runs as a staged process that permanently removes your account and your private, user-owned data. Content you shared with a Circle may remain visible to that Circle with your identity removed, so the group's shared history stays coherent.

A limited set of records is retained after deletion for safety, abuse prevention, security, financial, and legal purposes. These records are limited to an internal identifier plus the event or financial details required for the stated purpose — not your email, name, or personal spiritual content. Current retention windows:

  • 12 months: Circle governance history and abuse, rate-limit, and service-usage records
  • 24 months: safety, moderation, reporting, and security records
  • 84 months (7 years): financial and billing records required by law and by our payment processor

Retained records are removed automatically once their window elapses. While your account is active, we retain your data so the service works as expected.

Your Rights

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Manage your cookie preferences

Children's Privacy

Zuniva is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
